Thameslink starts at...
Thameslink Delay Repay can apply when a Thameslink delay or cancellation gets you to your destination 15 minutes or more late.
If you're claiming direct
Thameslink sends manual claims through its Delay Repay portal. That means finding the journey details, matching the right proof for your ticket type, and getting everything sent before the 28-day deadline. Here's the route:
Claim prep
Have proof of travel ready before you start. Thameslink may need a ticket number or UTN, ticket image, receipt, booking screenshot, Key Smartcard number, Oyster/contactless journey statement, season-ticket and photocard image, or sTicket Delay Repay coupon.
Trainline, work booking tools and travel agents do not change who handles Delay Repay. If Thameslink caused the delay and you travelled, claim from Thameslink. If you abandoned the trip and need an unused-ticket refund, go back to the seller.
Thameslink converts the pass into a single-journey value first: Weekly: 10 single journeys, Flexi Season: 16 single journeys, Monthly: 40 single journeys, Quarterly: 120 single journeys, Six-monthly: 240 single journeys, Annual: 464 single journeys. Season-ticket and travelcard compensation can be capped at a pro-rata full day's travel.
Auto Delay Repay is available for signed-up Key Smartcard customers who tap in and out on Thameslink, Great Northern, Southern or Gatwick Express. It can create a claim for 15+ minute delays, but you still need to review and confirm it. Use the manual route for paper tickets, mixed-ticket journeys or missing tap data.
Claims can fail if Thameslink cannot match a 15+ minute delay, the ticket was invalid, the service was not due to run, another operator caused the problem, the claim is a duplicate, or the daily cap has already been reached. Missing Key Smartcard taps can also block auto-claims.
Online Thameslink claims can pay by BACS, PayPal, eVoucher, cashable National Rail voucher or charity donation. Postal claims are limited to cashable National Rail vouchers. Auto Delay Repay also offers electronic choices such as Visa card payment.

What it comes down to
If a Thameslink service got you to your destination 15 minutes or more late, you could be due UK train delay compensation. That includes commuter, cross-London and airport trips such as Bedford, St Albans or Luton into London, Cambridge and Peterborough routes, Brighton journeys, and Gatwick Airport travel.
Thameslink calculates Delay Repay as a percentage of your ticket value, based on how late you arrived and whether you used a single, return or season ticket.
Thameslink rates:
| Delay | Single | Return | Season |
|---|---|---|---|
| 15-29 mins | 25% | 12.5% | 25% |
| 30-59 mins | 50% | 25% | 50% |
| 60-119 mins | 100% | 50% | 100% |
